I have lived out of a backpack for years at a time. How did so much stuff accumulate around me? Not moving.
I have been living, for the last 10 years, in 600 sq ft apartments. The longer I stay in one place, the more stuff I have. The more room I have plus the more time spent in one place equals much more stuff.
So, the first thing on the truck camper hints’ list is to get rid of stuff.
I have been collecting things. I confess. (Let’s not even talk about the books, yet) There is an extensive collection of women artists’ self portraits,
there are old computers, there is a selection of vases, there is a healthy plethora of kitchen goodies : the Kitchen Aid mixer, the heavy duty blender, the Cuisinart, the Breville juicer, the …ahggh. I won’t be able to make coffee in the percolator. I won’t be able to cook oatmeal in the microwave. I will enjoy coffee in a Melita filter/cone. I will remember how to squeeze oranges for juice. I will remember how to boil water for oatmeal. I will be thrilled not to hear the machinery.
All of the portraits and kitchen tools were appreciated. Now it is time to let them go and pack a truck..
