America the Beautiful – National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass – Senior Pass. – Cost $10. This is a lifetime pass for U.S. citizens or permanent residents age 62 or over. The pass provides access to, and use of, Federal recreation sites that charge an Entrance or Standard Amenity Fee. The Senior Pass also provides a 50 percent discount on some Expanded Amenity Fees charged for facilities and services such as camping …..
I bought a pass, one of the perks of age, and started thinking that this journey was possible.
I have a friend who is 79 and pinches pennies ’til they holler. She goes to chain stores (McDonalds, Sears, Pannera, etc.) and always asks if there is a senior discount. She gets one most of the time.
I haven’t done that yet.
Once I did park in the senior citizen parking space at the grocery store. Although I qualified, age-wise, I felt guilty the whole shopping trip.
