Getting Fit for the Journey

I am on a 5 10 15 day juice fast, thanks to the Breville juicer and the movie “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead”.  There will be no juicer in the truck. What if I just ate the fruits and veggies? Will I feel as good?

I juice 2 apples, 2 carrots, two stalks of celery, 3 handfuls of spinach, a thumb-sized piece of ginger and a half a lime. I drink this 3 times a day, changing up fruits and veggies. Surprised me how yummy the drinks are.

I am hiking an hour to two every day through snow and uphill and downhill. I am juicing to reboot my system into healthy eating habits. I am intent on getting fit for this journey. Its no fun just driving and just sitting because I do not have energy. Or my hip hurts. Or I want a hamburger.

This is the fourth day, and I love the way I am feeling.

This is the 16th day. I broke the juice drinking yesterday and had a salad and some butternut squash soup. Back with the juice this morning.

It would be a lot of chewing if I wanted to continue this regimen in the truck, since  the Breville is staying put.  Couldn’t be called a juice fast.
