Big Bend National Park
Big Bend has been a place I have wanted to go. I have no idea why. The .gov site offers much information. Still have no idea why I am fixated on Big Bend. This, however, caught my attention while poking around the web site:
Camping Limits
Visitors can stay in the park up to 14 consecutive nights in either a front or backcountry site, with a limit of 28 total nights in the park in a calendar year. Campers can occupy a specific site up to 14 total nights in a year. Between February 1-April 15, visitors are limited to a total of 14 nights in the park.
So the 28 day limit applies to April 15-January 31. What is the weather like? I immediately went to my favorite weather spot and found this for a nearby town:September/October look good. What about rain?
September/October still looking good. I do want to avoid high winds. What does the area look like for wind?
All looks great to visit Big Bend National Park in a September or October one of these years. Maybe not his coming year. I still have to find a meteorite in Utah or Nevada first.
