Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms, USA (WWOOF-USA®) is part of a worldwide effort to link visitors with organic farmers, promote an educational exchange, and build a global community conscious of ecological farming practices.

WOOFUSA looks for  help with gardening  (and/or help taking care of animals) in exchange for a place to stay or camp. Sometimes money. Mostly seasonal. Here is an example:

We are a family of four with a small scale farm on the Gila river in s.w. N.M.We sell at one farmers market per week and to the local Coop.
We have three goats we milk and sell milk and cheese, honey bees, 2 hoop houses we grow in during spring summer and fall. Also starting a tree nursery for some community forestry projects.We grow organic but are not certified. Beautiful high desert rural environment surrounded by nature. 35-40 miles to the nearest town which is Silver City N.M. Accommodations are rustic at this point, camping, but hot water, showers, laundry and meals will be available. Also opportunity to make money exists. Looking for short term help with farm chores. I am not needing money, but hanging out with organic gardeners is rewarding. And these folks offer showers and meals!
